Coffee and a Little Enneagram
Join me monthly for coffee and a little enneagram at a Twin Cities coffee shop
Once a month I can be found working in a local coffee shop. If you have any questions about the enneagram, are wondering about what classes I am offering, are curious about what the enneagram can do for your organization or just want to chat, please stop by. Don’t worry about interrupting me. I’ll probably be doing something dull like typing up notes or cleaning my email.
When and where I can be found
Usually a couple of hours, usually the third week of the month. Always a coffee shop. I’ll be the one with a laptop, a bunch of colored pens and a couple of enneagram books. Follow me on Facebook or Instagram to find out where and when I can be found. I will be posting my plans a few days in advance.
If you - like me - are nervous about approaching the right person, see my picture and find out more about me.
Get a mini typing session
If you are interested in finding out what enneagram type you are, I can give you a mini typing session. The cost for that is $30 for 20 minutes. The random questions and delightful conversation is free.
Why am I doing this?
Several reasons.
Marketing. I don’t do well at big networking events. I would much rather talk more casually over a cup of coffee. I find listening to people, talking with them about their lives and answering their questions is a better marketing strategy than seeing how many business cards I can hand out in an hour. So, yeah marketing is one reason. But there are others.
Community. I believe in the power of casual relationships. That friend you meet for coffee every so often. A group of former coworkers who still do happy hour together. The barista who knows you by name. The last few years have weakened those bonds for many of us. We are bruised and exhausted and we struggle to find our way back to friendships and nourishing community. Let’s start with a cup of coffee.
Personal Growth. I am a planner. I like to know what’s going to happen next and what to expect from every encounter. This past year my plans failed me multiple times. They fell through, they didn’t work as planned or just didn’t do what I needed them to do. You know what worked? Having conversations I didn’t plan for, didn’t have an agenda for, hadn’t rehearsed over and over in my head. The idea of these conversations still makes me a bit uncomfortable, but they have taken me places I never would have gotten without them. My personal work with the enneagram tells me it’s time to lean into my discomfort and learn some new skills.
Reclaiming My Crown. Back in the day, I called myself the St Paul Coffee Shop Queen There wasn’t a coffee shop in St. Paul (and very few in Minneapolis) I didn’t know. I could recommend a coffee shop to anyone based on where they were, what they wanted to do and how they liked their coffee. But those days are behind me, old favorites are gone, and new coffee shops appear without me even knowing. I want to explore. I want an excuse to hang out in a coffee shop like one of the cool kids again. And if I can call it “work” all the better.
Do you have a favorite coffee shop to recommend? Shoot me an email and I’ll add it to the list!
